Yesterday I did an amazing photo shoot for Sofia Cristina Barbara Brull from Puerto Rico. I felt so much energy and team work on this photo shoot it was unbelievable. It was Sophia’s first time in front of the digital camera as a model and it was my first time working with my new “sidekick”, super talented team member, art director and stylist for this photo shoot, Jennifer Oquendo from Miami.

After a long two weeks of thinking about this photo shoot and a week of planning it, my alarm went off at five thirty a.m., got wake up call from Erin at five thirty one a.m. and then at five thirty four a.m. I got a call, “Hey Dwayne! It’s me Jenn, I’m on the road and I should be at your place in about thirty minutes.” That was Jennifer full of energy and excitement (at five in the morning on a Sunday).

The photo shoot call time was set for six thirty a.m. (at sunrise), the perfect time to photograph with the early morning summer sunlight. I finished my cup of Lipton Tea and at arrival to the location there was a great vibe/aura, for me, it was because of everyone’s timely promptness. I had absolutely nothing to do besides bringing my talent; Jennifer had everything under control ; she instructed Sofia as to what to do, she had the accessories, wardrobes, make-up, digital camera, lenses, reflector, flash, and music in order / prepared.

For this photo shoot I used the Nikon D300 digital camera, Nikon SB900 AF speedlight flash, Nikon 200mm VR lens, Nikon 50mm lens, a Sigma 300mm and a gold reflector. As the sun rose over the ocean in Miami, MGMT, Electric Feel, one of my favorite bands and songs played, everyone worked together allowing me to capture great images throughout the morning.
