So let’s get on it! I’m back in Miami, Florida and like everyone else here right now, I’m feeling that twenty-eleven hustle! I’m just happy to see all of my hommies on top of their game this year, all of us out here grinding hard and it’s a big year gonna be a bigger year.

So what has been on the plate? I’m in the post-production for H4H, AF and MTPFL. along with that I’m in the Pre-production stage for CCG. Been a busy month and I’m trying to shoot as much as I can monthly and make change stack at home when I am not there.

It has been crazy thinking the things I wanted as a younger kid is starting to shape. I feel as if I’m in the mix of the making now and not wishing to be in the mix. It has its ups and downs but we #TeamDT. aint tripping getting there in a min and living until it happens.

I believe in keeping busy; my mentality is somewhat of a shark. Not only going strong after your target, but, like a shark, always be moving. I believe that I’m a business, I explain to my clients, “If your business stays static you’ll die.”. Now you’ve just read all of that smooth-cool-bull-shit talk for me to simply say always be doing something. When you’re not shooting,  edit, when you’re not editing write/sketch/ think, when you’re sleeping dream of a photo shoot/ idea for your next photo shoot and when you take a break sit on a beach, with a Corona in hand and think about your next move!

I knew I’d be bored sitting in the airport this morning, so, I left this image to write about and share with you. Nothing to tech about how I photographed the image. Honestly it was nothing more than a fun/ good looking model (my cousin), an assistant, lucky timing and a golden reflector (I don’t use gold as much but it was time to try a different bounce) and a little editing in Photoshop to keep me from being bored on last vacation trip to the Bahamas. You’re probably saying, “bored in the Bahamas this guy must be crazy!” The thing is if I get to relaxed in the sand of these beautiful beaches, one I’ll much darker and two I’ll never want to leave again – I have to keep thinking about a next move!

All of my shoots, no matter the size, I want my clients to feel comfortable and I want them to leave thinking, “Damn we had an awesome time with Photographer Dwayne Tucker it’s a must we do that again!”

I called my cousin up, got my mother’s neighbor to assist me, went to a house, had plans of going on top of the roof and plans to start shooting at time x. Shooting started one hour after time x because it took us that long to get the assistant on the roof. It was my fault to assume and not be certain that  everyone was not afraid of heights! If you are going to an extreme place double check the aforementioned situations. For example I’m headed over to Fresh Creek Andros in 20mins and my assistant who’s with me is afraid of sharks; it’s cool because along with some smooth-cool-bull-shit talk I was able to get the last assistant on the roof.

It’s all about professional work, positive attitudes and great times.

If you’re new to the blog—I flew to Bahamas a few weeks ago to photograph for an awesome charity Hands For Hunger.Hands for Hunger’s mission is to stop editable food waste in the Bahamas and feed people who are hungry.

Above are three portraits I photographed of the female staff at H4H. The task was to capture/ illustrate welcoming and fun in simplest terms. The photographs are going to be used on H4H’s website-contact-page beside the girls names when the site’s displayed images are relaunched.

There are there stages of operation when photography with PFTDT.: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production.

The first stage I sketch my ideas. To do so I use whatever is available – a sketchbook, my hand, a napkin; anything available to jot-ink ideas.

This task was to show that behind the seriousness, long days, hours and how stressful running the operation becomes, they have fun, because they are happy helping and happy finding food for those in need.

With a few ideas inked, I asked the girls to meet me at one of the H4H’s trucks. I made my way to the back of the truck with my SB-900 attached to my camera and the 14-24mm to the camera’s body, shot some test to find the right settings; that stage is identified as the production stage. The post is when we do minor editing in Photoshop/Lightroom/Whatever you chose to edit your photographs in.

Simple and fun! Remember to sketch your ideas of what you want your photographs to look like before you shoot then explore the outcome.

Nike Running: I run Paris 1-3

(Click to view the images larger, and above link for original source – AdsOfTheWorld.com)There has been a ton of talk about these ads for Nike Running; mainly about the elements and confusion of the concept. People seemed unhappy with these because of the lacking elements of an ad: Headline, Bodycopy, Logo, Visual and Call to Action. The obvious ones stands out what they have and what’s no there. It’s not my job to talk about the advertising if you want to please visit it’s original source like I do and share the comments. Here’s to talk about the photography/concept within the advertising.

If you want, before you read on, go to the commentary to take a pen and paper to write down how you feel about the ad’s photography before you read my thoughts.

Now that you’re back – I enjoyed the campaign’s photography and I think the concept is quite clear. I haven’t seen the photo brief but I could imagine it was to shoot the photographs at night making the viewers connect with the images as if it was them reviewing a night shooting with friends. If it were they accomplished the task.

Snap-shotty, simple and fun. Sort of how your images would have looked when you’ve uploaded them to your computer coming in from a night running with friends.

Use this post to get ideas of your own for simple and fun photography, come up with a concept and shoot; I’m brainstorming as I write. I shared those with you to discuss the photography so hit me up in the comments and tell me what you think. ]]> I came across this video check out my hommie Aaron Smith’s blog! The women are so beautiful the photographer Terry Richardson is so talented! I love when I see older photographers out there doing it large in the game showing me how I’ll be kicking it at their age if I continue to my hustle. Just like Terry I like to bring energy and fun to my sets (It’s something I put first! – ask anyone who has ever worked along with me.)

Keeping Up With Dwayne Tucker from DwayneTucker.com – Hands For Hunger’s photo shoot week – Day 2.

My day started at H4H’s office, I photographed H4H’s truck driver (Steven Cartwright) picking-up and dropping-off food, then sat in a few meetings before a short nap at 3 a.m. to repeat the process.

Two years ago, I sat at this table with Alanna Rodgers (Founder & President), where I sit quickly blogging about what’s going on with my services at H4H this week. A group of ambitious young adults including myself, agreed there were a need for change then transformed a system, developing what the Bahamas knows now as Hands For Hunger.

Just like others, because of H4H’s logical concept, I became attracted to the idea and decided to help. The mission was to create a food rescue program and feed hungry people in the Bahamas.

As a movement made up of volunteers, partners, and donors we are able provide food for hungry people in the Bahamas. There are about 30,000 of them. Explore: Bahamas Hunger Statistics.

Tears nearly came to my eye when I heard a potential partner, at a meeting yesterday say, “Did you know the food you guys are providing, people depend on; they wouldn’t know where their next meal would appear from if it weren’t for Hands For Hunger.”

Keeping Up With Dwayne Tucker from DwayneTucker.com – Hands For Hunger photo shoot week, December 13th – December 17th 2010. I nearly did a backflip when I received my Nikkor 14-24 mm lens in the mail last night. I’ve shot the lens numerous of times renting from Aperture Professional Studios and Supply in Miami, Florida. I’m happy to have another toy in my Nikon collection. I got super excited and did a photo shoot with it last night; we had a blast. I stayed up late last night and woke up early this morning editing with Lightroom and Photoshop. Normally, for clients, the shoots are planned and delivered within three stages: Pre-Production (the planning), Production (the shooting) and Post-Production (the enhancements and delivery). I’m pleased with the outcome of this shoot knowing we planned it within fifteen minutes. Everyone on set had a blast; that’s always my personal goal. It’s a personal goal for me because if the client, the stylist, the make-up artist and my assistants are having a good time, I feed off of thier positive energy and preform better (music and drinks usually helps!).
