YachtLife,

Looking at the photographs of me recording my track, “The Beginning”, from my Somewhat Good Is Okay Volume 1 (SGIOV1) mixtape in my Miami, Florida condo reminded me of how far we’ve sailed in such a short period of time. A full year haven’t passed since you’ve helped me set sail with my career as an alternative hip-hop musician and we’ve already accomplished a number of goals. The most “amazing/exciting” part of this journey is that the portfolio of accomplishments will continue to grow everyday as more people get on board with us. What’s most important is that the more people that board our YachtLife (Young. Ambitious. Creative. High-standard. Talented. Lifestyle.) movement allots me more power to inspire others to go after their dreams with motivation to accomplish their goals.

Recently my hometown’s #1 radio station 100Jamz shared my track The Beginning and me a featured artist on their website. If you haven’t voted for the track as of yet go here and do so to show support please: [Visit D. Tucker on 100Jamz.com]

Until Next,

Lakai Skate Shoes

Skateboard Shoe 1 Lakai Skate Shoes

Skateboard Shoe 2 Lakai Skate Shoes

Skateboard Shoe 3 Lakai Skate Shoes

Skateboard Shoe 4 Lakai Skate Shoes

Skateboard Shoe 5 Lakai Skate Shoes

My first pair of Lakai skate shoes are shown above and if I live to buy another pair they won’t be the last; I love them! I needed new skate shoes while in Bahamas, a friend recommend me to a store that sold Lakais and the shoe’s purchase was worth every penny! Had I known about the greatness of Lakai skate shoes earlier, you would have heard me give them a plug into my, Security Cop Talk, track from SGIOV2. (The part in the third verse when I name off a few skate brands that I f-wit. The song is posted below for you to play again…and again….and again.)

I photographed the shoes three days after usage; hence why they look a little beat up, they are skate shoes not Johnston and Murphy shoes for the office. If your father gave a shit-less about what people think about him, I’d definitely recommend you to recommend the Lakai skate shoes to your father to wear as office shoes because they are hella comfortable!

Back on topic, I’ve been skating Emerica skate shoes (Reynolds) for a while. Similar to the Reynolds, I love the feel of the shoe while being worn / the shoe’s comfort’s impeccable, I love the shoe’s durability (you can always tell how long your shoe will last after the first day of skating it – providing you skate a lot!), and the grip it provide is awesome. (I’m pretty sure it helped me gain extra height on my ollie.)

If you need new shoes I’d recommend giving them a shot! Make sure when you bomb out with the shoes my song is playing in your iPod though!

Until next time,

Sand’s Beer Bahamas

D. Tucker Sands Beer Bahamas

To start, that aint no gang sign, that aint no mf-in’ shocker sign, that’s YachtLife you dumb-f! I’ve been on that Sand’s Beer lately (“Drink-up” responsibly please don’t be a 2xDumb-f)…Some people like Sand’s Beer, some people don’t. But then again, some people are f-in stupid, some people aren’t…My all time fav beer is still, Stella Artois. Stella is a great by seldom served beer at the parties in Bahamas; unless it’s an official YachtLife party!

WTF is YachtLife

The video above was made to help explain YachtLife. Other than being a movement you should want to be down with for the sake / survival of humanity, YachtLife is the acronym for: Young. Ambitious. Creative. High-standard. Talented. Lifestyle.

Something to remember, “It’s not the Yacht that make the lifestyle of the person, however, it’s the lifestyle of a person that help them get the YachtLife!”

YachtLife WTF is YachtLife

(From R to L: Professional Golfer Nic Soglanich, D. Tucker, E.S.B. and Dannyboi Soglanich

on a 150ft Yacht at my 22nd birthday party they threw for me!)

People get on board YachtLife because they usually become / are supporters of my music and I often shout-out “YachtLife” a lot. Others learned about the movement because they follow my Facebook fan-page, twitter or tumblr and sometimes I may end my quotes with, “One Love. One Life. YachtLife.” The remainders just want something cool to rep and that’s fine with us.

My goal with the movement is to inspire my followers by showing them how hard I work for what I believe in and pray to God they’ll want to do the same. It take nothing more than giving your everything to get on board towards a better life; YachtLife.

How the fuck did I come up with the acronym? My side chick at the time and I were faded-chilling listening to Wiz Khalifa’s Kush and OJ mixtape (We’re fans of his music and TaylorGang movement). At the time I was doing photography as a profession but she knew more than anyone how serious I was about my music because I’d rap new songs to her often. To cut a long story somewhat-short, she said, “You should create a movement for people to rep because people are attracted to your hustle.” One day after a session I was chilling with my DJ Kid Smooth on the balcony watching the Yachts sail by in the Biscayne bay and I was like, “Yo! YachtLife: Young. Ambitious. Creative. High-standard. Talented. Lifestyle.” then it stuck. The brand other than the acronym stuck and grew on us because its perfect for our Sperry Top-sider boat shoes and nautical gear wearing style, while creatively hustling for self-mentality-developement and progression. It is perfect.

If you didn’t know, now you know; I hope you keep it YachtLife and rep the movement. I’ll end this explanation post about YachtLife by leaving you a song SUBPAT and I made for our supporters. We believe in “work hard party hard-er” so I hope you party hard af to this song, DRINK UP, from my Somewhat Good Is Okay Volume 2 mixtape.

Until next time,

D. Tucker

Intro S.G.I.O. Volume 2 – The Explanation

YachtLife,

An abundance of thoughts are embedded into every line of my songs. You take time out to listen to my music and I’m extremely thankful. I care about the art I create and the way it was meant to be understood. To make sure you understand completely everything said in my music, I’ll be making “explanation-posts” for all of my tracks from my Somewhat Good Is Okay Volume 2 (SGIOV2) mixtape. Like this one, the explanation-post will include:  A video of me preforming the song for you, a SoundCloud player for you to listen to and have the option of downloading the song individually and lastly the explanation of the song’s lyrics (if you download the track and play into iTunes,right-mouse-click, then go to the get info tab you’ll feel the full lyrics for the songs). (more…)

The New DwayneTucker.com

Screen Shot 2012 03 19 at 7.06.31 PM The New DwayneTucker.com

YachtLife and guest,

As the leader of YachtLife (Young. Ambitious. Creative. High-standard. Talented. Lifestyle.) I’m excited to say welcome to the new DwayneTucker.com and to the new YachtLife members, welcome on board. This new blog-website allots me the opportunity to personally share with you as you help me sail to destinations within the music industry. It’s been an incredibly fun adventure as a professional photographer; within the last ten years as a photographer: I’ve met my idol / president of the National Association of  Photoshop Professionals and president of some other cool companies, Scott Kelby, I was his second assistant on the Photo Recipes 2 project, I shook the hand of Joe McNally, met a number of celebrities, models and life long friends. I feel so blessed because none of the aforementioned would have been possible if my supporters didn’t believe in me.

Why the change to alternative hip-hop & rap?

When asked why I stop being a photographer, I reply by saying, “I…”paused”…my title as a professional photographer; you never really stop being a photographer.”

To the guest, some of the members of YachtLife, the ones following me as an artist from high-school know my music background. I started creating music when I was thirteen years old.  To update you with everything, last summer (summer 2011) after my lifestyle photo-shoot with R&B singer Deborah Cox (my last three-strage-production photo-session) I paused my career as a professional photographer to pursue this career as an alternative hip-hop & rap artist. From thirteen up to last summer I’ve been making songs for fun as friends because I love creating music, I’m young and would hate to look back at my life knowing I didn’t give music a try with 100% dedication like I’m doing so now.

Again, I’m super thankful for everyone that support me / show love to me as an artist. To stay on board, please like my Facebook fan page / bookmark this blog / follow me on twitter and most important listen and share my music around with your friends; I can’t do this alone.

Until next time, One love. One life. YachtLife. – D. Tucker
