“What good is a picture if you don’t share it”, Chase Jarvis.
Everyday I look for new tips and advice to help my photography and I share the best ones with you. Today my tweet told you, “If someone motivates you and moves you reach out to them and let them know…just came off the phone with a lady with passion I admire.” [Add Me To Your Twitter].
1: Life as a Fashion Photographer
I found another great blog that’s worth sharing with you; Photosecrets Blog – The Secrets For Your Careers as a Working Photographer by Beate Chelette. I got the opportunity to talk to Beate, the author, to tell her keeping doing her thing. I love to feel the passion of others when they share with photography community.
A bit about Beate, from her about page,
“Beate Chelette became a multimillionaire when she sold her company to the world’s most successful entrepreneur, Bill Gates. She does a lot more than talk about how to make the American Dream happen—she is living proof that it can happen, and she’ll teach you how to make your own dreams come true! A photography professional since 1984 Chelette’s experience is impressive and covers a broad spectrum of photography. She worked with some of the world’s biggest names in photography and has a client list that includes such staples as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Meryn’s, Levi’s, Wrangler, Glidden Paint, Coldwell Banker and many more.”
Now you know a bit about her let us continue. A few days ago I stumbled upon a video she posted on her website and I am sharing it below. The video is titled Life as a Fashion Photographer. H&M, a global fashion retailer came up with a great concept of promoting their fashion on YouTube.
The video has photographer Andreas Sjodin sharing advice:

2. Three Rules for Earning Good Word of Mouth for Your Photography Business
The second article I am sharing with you is from Black Star Rising by Sean Catyon, titled, Three Rules for Earning Good Word of Mouth for Your Photography Business.
About Sean:
“Sean Cayton and his wife and business partner Cathy own and operate a wedding photography business in Colorado Springs. Since starting their business in 2001, they have photographed over 150 weddings. Sean and Cathy chronicle their lives and their business on their blog.”
Sean opens the article with a great quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him.”
Sean gives us the three rules:
Rule No. 1: Be helpful – not just some of the time, but all of the time.
Rule No.2: Don’t talk down to your customers.
Rule No. 3: Offer something that your competition doesn’t – a great experience.
