How To Make Objects Float

dwayne product shot How To Make Objects Float

The image shown above is a shot of a great friend of mine Scott VanArsdale and I shooting an ad for a class project at Savannah College of Art and Design about 2 years ago or so; I didn’t have fancy photography lighting equipment, neither did I have enough credits to check out the equipment from the school, I used what I had. I am posting this because I want to share with you an article from my idol Scott Kelby on his Photoshop Insider Blog, “Behind the Scenes From My Recent Product Shoot”.

As a kid I always wanted to know how to make products appear as if they are floating when you photograph them. In Scott’s article he lays out the steps and shows you how he went about photographing the product making it appear as if it’s floating.
